Our latest project brought this classic 1959 Chevy El Camino to our shop, to undergo a transformation to restore its former glory. This iconic vehicle, a symbol of its time, had seen better days, with issues ranging from rust erosion to deep gouges and cracks – all testament to the years it’s seen on the road.

Work included:
– Comprehensive body repair
– Custom two-tone paint scheme
– New bed
– Additional trim

The centerpiece of this project was the custom two-tone paint scheme. The body now features a pearlized, steely blue body, contrasted by cool-white accents, expertly highlighting those iconic tailfins. Our client, Bob, was so thrilled with the custom color combination that he requested that we paint the dash to match, creating a cohesive finish in a satin texture.

For Bob, the 1959 Chevys have a special meaning. “The ’59 Chevy is the first car I remember my parents having. They didn’t have an El Camino, but any of the ’59 Chevys had the big tailfins and cat eyes.”

The Chevy El Camino was originally created to provide the ideal combination of a truck’s utility and the comfort and elegance of a passenger car. The 1959 model El Camino features quintessential tailfins, much like other iconic cars from that year including the Cadillac Eldorado and Buick Electra.
